Grants Programs

Eastview Community Grants Programs
EVCF currently sponsors two distinct grants programs which support students and educational programs within the community.
1) Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Grants are awarded to each of the schools in the community to help meet critical financial needs of individual students. These needs are simply defined as those which, if not met, will interfere with or detract from a student’s education and overall wellbeing. Distribution of these funds is confidential and done at the discretion of the schools. Since the first RAK grant awards were made in 2005, $13,000 in RAK grants have been awarded. Examples of needs that arise include:
· basic school supplies
· graphing calculators, workbooks, lab and field trip fees
· winter clothing, shoes
· food for hungry children
· Advance Placement, SAT or ACT test fees
· needs arising when a parent is unexpectedly ill or loses a job
· graduation fees and senior party admission

Past EVCF President Dan Garry presents a Random Acts of Kindness check to principals Rob Franchino and Dick Dewey of Eastview High School.
2) Program Grants support educational programs and initiatives within the Eastview community. Final determination of awards is based on the degree to which grant proposals meet the specific goals and criteria of this grants program and by the number of proposals received. Evaluation criteria include, but are not limited to, the extent to which a proposal addresses unmet community needs, shows funding needs not readily available through other sources, are innovative and creative, create long term benefit for the community, and demonstrate efforts to involve and collaborate with other community resources. Since our first Program Grants offering in 2005, EVCF has awarded over $38,000 in program grants to area schools and programs. A list of EVCF Project Grant awards is posted on this website.
How You Can Help:
EVCF grants are supported by proceeds from our various fundraising events and the generous donations of businesses and individuals in the community. Donations can be designated to support EVCF grants programs or to create an endowment for future grants. Your gifts will better equip us to respond to and support the needs and visions of Eastview Community students and educators.
