Jen McCarty Plucker joined the EVCF board in the fall of 2021. Jen was part of the inaugural staff at Eastview in 1997 when the building opened, teaching English and coaching Speech for 15 years before moving on to the central office. She left ISD 196 in 2017 to start a professional learning division at Mackin Educational Resources in Burnsville. She currently serves as director and lead literacy consultant for Mackin Learning. She holds a B.S. degree in Secondary English and Speech/Theatre, and M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning, and an Ed.D. in Education Leadership. Jen’s husband, Carl is a 7th grade American Studies Teacher and MTSS Coach at BlackHawk Middle School. Jen’s son Andrew (EVHS, 2019) is at UNL in NROTC and majoring in Business Administration, her daughter Ainsley (EVHS, 2022) is involved in all things Arts (Speech, Theatre, Choir, Dance), and they all love and spoil the Plucker pup, Teddy. Jen enjoys quality time with family here or up at her parent’s lake home and is using her free time to write a professional development book for teachers on engaging adolescents in reading.
